Hydrogen sulfide can be produced in small amounts from sulfur containing amino acids like cysteine by a large number of bacteria in carbohydrate media. Hydrogen sulfide produces on contact with lead acetate a black preciptate, indicated by a visible black-colored reaction on the hydrogen sulfide paper strip.
Dec 31, 2015· Aquathermolysis is a reaction of heated water with hydrocarbons molecules in the absence of oxygen. In the present work we have considered different reactions of cyclohexyl phenyl sulfide molecule with water as a very particular model for aquathermolysis process by means of density functional methods.
Another method is to prevent the exothermic reaction from taking place at a rate that will result in combustion. If the reaction occurs slowly, the iron sulfide will convert to iron oxide, which is rust, and sulfur dioxide (SO 2), and the heat will dissipate without causing a flame or acting as an ignition source.
